'Deep regret'
Last week, Pellegrino told the New York Times he had been misled by book contributor Joseph Fuoco. Mr Fuoco said in his testimony that he had been a last-minute replacement for a flight engineer on the Enola Gay - the B-29 plane that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Pellegrino - an adviser on Cameron's Oscar-nominated 3D epic Avatar -apologised and promised to correct the text.

Stevie Wonder is in talks with Glastonbury Festival for him to headline on Sunday night.Festival organiser Michael Eavis said Muse may headline on Saturday. The rock band last headlined the event in 2004. So far U2 are confirmed to headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night of the festival, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Honorary Oscar for actress Bacall
Bacall, 85, starred in more than 30 films but never won an Academy Award. "I can't believe it - a man at last," Bacall joked as she received the lifetime achievement statuette. Sharon Osbourne has said sorry for insulting Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle on a US radio station.Osbourne stated on micro-blogging site Twitter that she wanted to "apologise for getting a cheap laugh" at the Scottish singer's expense. Earlier this month Osbourne, 57, appeared on Sirius XM Radio where she called Boyle a "lovely lady" who had been hit by "the ugly stick". The clip, which was posted on YouTube, angered some of Boyle's fans.

Microsoft disconnects Xbox gamers
Online reports suggest that as many as 600,000 gamers may have been affected. Microsoft confirmed that it had banned a "small percentage" of the 20 million Xbox Live users worldwide. Microsoft said that modifying an Xbox 360 console "violates" the service's "terms of use" and would result in a player being disconnected.
